Kurt is the Vice President and General Manager for Comcast Spotlight in New Mexico & Colorado – the advertising sales and client marketing arm of Comcast. In this role, Kurt has oversight and responsibility for all aspects of the advertising sales division in both states and its 150 employees including sales, marketing and research, as well as video production.
Kurt has 20 years of experience in the advertising industry and in his 19 years in cable, he has worked in a variety of leadership positions. He has worked with literally thousands of clients and businesses at all different levels to help them develop successful advertising and marketing plans. His responsibilities have grown from managing one small market in the four corners area to having leadership responsibilities for multiple markets and departments in a multi-tiered media business today.
Kurt’s commitment to the community and the communications industry is evident in his involvement with the Denver Advertising Federation, serving on the Board of Directors for 3 years and being named President of the organization in 2005. Kurt presently sits on the Board of Directors for LiveWell Colorado, a non-profit organization dedicated to reducing obesity in the State of Colorado. Under his leadership, the Comcast Spotlight group has consistently supported the community through a variety of charitable organizations. Kurt has been the recipient of numerous awards in the cable industry. Kurt was the recipient of the Guiding Star Award for Sales Management Excellence from AT&T Media Services. This was the highest award a Sales Manager could receive. In 2008, Kurt was a finalist for the Herndon Award – given to the top leader in the company on an annual basis.
A native New Mexican from Albuquerque, and a graduate of the University of New Mexico with a degree in Communications - Kurt and Megan, his wife of 19 years, live in the Denver area and have three children ranging in age from 11 years old to 3 years old.
