Stevie TV

VH1 renewed its sketch comedy series, Stevie TV starring Stevie Ryan for a second season. The series parodies pop culture and Ryan offers her version of comedy in a fast-paced irreverent style along with music videos, celebrity impersonations, fake commercials and more. Season two of Stevie TV will be back on VH1 this fall and is produced by New Wave Entertainment.

 

Destination Summer

Travel Channel will program a themed block of programming this summer called Destination Summer, to start May 20. The block will include special installments of popular shows like Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations that will have Bourdain discovering Kansas City barbeque and Park Secrets in the vacation paradise of Hawaii. The net also recently announced a number of upcoming programs including:Mega Mansions (July 8 at 7PM), offering tours of America’s most beautiful estates; Xtreme Waterparks (July 8 at 8PM), celebrating the world’s over-the-top water slides; Insane Coaster Wars (July 8 at 9PM), letting viewers vote on their favorite rollercoasters; RV Kings (July 8 at 10PM), following the transformation of one family’s RV into the perfect vehicle for their dream vacation; Suite Choice (July 12 at 10PM), giving travelers a chance to try out three of their ideal vacations in one day -- while staying on a budget; American Originals (July 24 at 8PM), in which Steve Watson crisscrosses the country playing with gadgets like the JetLev in Dania, Florida, where he’ll walk on water and fly through the air; and All You Can Meat (August 15 at 10PM), following radio personality and TV host Chuey Martinez (MTV3) as he travels the nation searching for the perfect cut of meat.

 

Outlaw Empires

Discovery Channel has ordered a new docu-series called Outlaw Empires, from the creator of FX’s Sons of Anarchy. The new series, set to debut on Monday, May 14, 10PM, will explore some of the most feared and iconic gang and mob families in history

 

Drop Dead Diva

Network: Lifetime

A fourth season of Drop Dead Diva premieres on Lifetime with 13 new episodes starting June 3 at 9p. The one-hour comedic drama's ensemble cast is headlined by Brooke Elliott and for the new season Kim Kardashian will begin her multi-episode run in the season opener playing relationship guru, Nikki LePree. The upcoming new season is currently in production in Atlanta and is produced by Sony Pictures Television.

 

Whale Wars

Network: Animal Planet

The original Whale Wars series will open its fifth season on Animal Planet June 1 at 9p. Over eight new episodes and a one-hour recap special, the series will follow the Sea Shepherds' annual whale defense campaign in the Southern Ocean. In this upcoming new season, the Sea Shepherds will face tougher challenges as the Japanese whalers are more aggressive and the crew is taking on more inexperienced rookies. Call of the Wildman will be debuting on Animal Planet as well on June 3rd at 10p. The new season has 16 new half-hour episodes featuring Kentuckian "Turtleman" as he rids homes and businesses of a variety of critters including muskrats, river otters, beavers, squirrels and even wild coyotes.

 

The Glee Project

Oxygen is bringing back a second season of The Glee Project from Ryan Murphy Television and Embassy Row premiering June 5 at 10p as well as The Next Big Thing: NY from BBC Worldwide Productions and Omelette Bar Productions premiering June 12 at 11p.

 

The Lying Game

Network: ABC Family

ABC Family has renewed its original series The Lying Game for a second season; the show will be back next winter. ABC Family's current run of teen drama Make It or Break It will be the program's final season. The series finale will air on May 14.

 

Major Crimes

Network: TNT

Date: August 13, 2012

TNT has begun production on its new original drama Major Crimes, which is slated to premiere on Monday, August 13, 10PM, right after The Closer series finale. Major Crimes picks up where The Closer leaves off and features much of the same cast.

 

The Week the Women Went

Network: Lifetime

Date: June 6, 2012

A new unscripted series on Lifetime will delve into modern gender roles and what happens when women leave town and the men have to run their own households, businesses and the community on their own. The Week the Women Went debuts June 6 with a 90-min episode starting at 10p. This limited series, set in Yemassee, South Carolina is based on a British social experiment and is produced by BBC Worldwide Productions. One-hour episodes will continue on June 13 and June 20 at 10p. The series ends on June 27 with a two-hour finale starting at 9p.

 

The Half Hour

Network: Comedy Central

Comedy Central’s new stand-up series The Half Hour will debut on Friday, May 11 with back-to-back episodes at 11 and 11:30PM.

 

Longmire

Network: A&E Network

Date: June 3, 2012

New original scripted drama series Longmire premieres on A&E Network starting June 3 at 10p directly following the third season debut of returning drama The Glades at 9p. Longmire is a crime thriller based on the Walt Longmire Mystery novels by Craig Johnson and Australian actor Robert Taylor stars as the charismatic and dedicated sheriff, Walt Longmire. The series also stars Katee Sackhoff, Lou Diamond Phillips, Bailey Chase, Cassidy Freeman and newcomer Adam Bartley. A&E’s new series Barter Kings will debut on Tuesday, June 12 9PM. The program features the thriving subculture of cashless trading, following Steve and Antonio, two of the best barterers in the business.

 

Are you Normal, America?

A new game show hosted by Barry Poznick and comedienne/actress Kim Coles watches as two contestants compete to win more than $100,000 in their quest to learn if they're normal. Premieres June 4 at 9p with a sneak preview airing June 3 at 10p.

 

Lives on Fire

This series follows four women who risk their lives every day as members of one of the nation's largest emergency response teams as they manage dangerous disasters in California. The series also delves into the women's personal lives. Premieres June 8 at 9p.

 

Million Dollar Neighborhood

The community of Aldergrove is working together on a million dollar challenge where they attempt to increase their net worth by a million dollars in three months. Series premieres June 9 at 9p.

 

Real Life: The Musical

New weekly reality series that helps tongue-tied people sing the words "I love you" or "marry me" and more as they work with a vocal coach and a choreographer to stage a live "flash musical" that surprises their loved one. Premieres June 9 at 10p.

 

Super Saver Showdown

A new competition reality series that features two fanatic bargain hunters competing to see which one has the best coupon clipping, DIY skills. Series premieres in July.

 

Lovetown, USA

Network: OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network

Following a nationwide search, Oprah Winfrey dubbed Kingsland, GA as Lovetown, USA, a community that is participating in a social experiment led by relationship coaches Paul Carrick Brunson and Kailen Rosenberg. The coaches will attempt to transform the town of Kingsland in 30 days into a community that embraces all kinds of love, where broken relationships are mended and acts of love, kindness and forgiveness become the norm. Premieres this August.

 

Oprah's Next Chapter

Oprah's Next Chapter returns with new episodes this summer airing on Sundays at 9p. The series follows Oprah as she conducts in-depth interviews with Neil Patrick Harris and then travels to Brazil to meet a man known as "John of God."

 

Our America

Our America with Lisa Ling debuts a new season June 10 at 10p and joins Ling as she reveals an up-close look at the Native American culture, young girls entering convents, arranged marriages and the world of child pageants.

 

What Not to Wear

Network: TLC

Tuesday nights on TLC will include two fashion-themed shows beginning May 29. What Not to Wear returns with 13 all-new episodes airing at 9p while at 10p the network premieres Big Brooklyn Style, a new series executive produced by Stacy London that follows husband and wife entrepreneurs Lisa and Jim Dolan owners of a plus-sized clothing store. Competition series Tattoo School received a series order from TLC following the special that aired last summer. The series watches as students are put through a two-week crash course in tattoo artistry in Louisiana. Tattoo School debuts May 24 at 10p. Long Island Medium has been renewed by TLC for another season. The third season will consist of 16 more half-hour episodes, scheduled to premiere in September.

 

Gene Simmons Family Jewels

Season seven of Gene Simmons Family Jewels returns to A&E Network's schedule starting May 28 at 9p with a one-hour special episode. The series offers viewers up-close access to the rock star and his family.

 

Head Games

Discovery Channel looks at what exactly it is that makes us human in the new three-part series Head Games, premiering Sunday, June 3, 10PM. Narrated by John Krasinski of The Office, the show delves into the inner workings of the deeply complex human brain.

 

How to Fall In Love

Rehab with Dr. Drew

Rehab with Dr. Drew will return for a sixth season on VH1 in September. Later this month, a second season of romantic comedy series Single Ladies, from Queen Latifah's Flavor Unit Entertainment returns to VH1's schedule starting May 28 at 9p. Single Ladies is the network's first one-hour scripted series and it stars LisaRaye McCoy as Keisha and Charity Shea as April along with new addition to the series, Denise Vasi playing Raquel. Queen Latifah who serves as EP will also appear on the series.

 

Mountain Men

Network: History Channel

New wilderness series Mountain Men debuts May 31 at 10p on HISTORY. The eight-episode series follows Eustace Conway, who has lived more than 25 years off the land in North Carolina's Blue Ridge Mountains and other mountain men who have chosen to live off the grid and follow a wilderness lifestyle. Conway does his own lumbering, tanning and blacksmithing and lives primarily on what he can grow, fish or hunt. The series also profiles Tom Oar who lives on the Yaak River in Montana and Marty Meierotto who lives in the northern range of Alaska.

 

Political Animals

USA’s much anticipated six-hour miniseries Political Animals now has a premiere date, Sunday, July 15, 10PM. The series, about a former first lady who becomes Secretary of State, stars Sigourney Weaver, Ellen Burstyn and an all-star cast.
