Stevie TV

VH1 renewed its sketch comedy series, Stevie TV starring Stevie Ryan for a second season. The series parodies pop culture and Ryan offers her version of comedy in a fast-paced irreverent style along with music videos, celebrity impersonations, fake commercials and more. Season two of Stevie TV will be back on VH1 this fall and is produced by New Wave Entertainment.

 

Destination Summer

Network: Travel Channel

Travel Channel will program a themed block of programming this summer called Destination Summer, to start May 20. The block will include special installments of popular shows like Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations that will have Bourdain discovering Kansas City barbeque and Park Secrets in the vacation paradise of Hawaii. The net also recently announced a number of upcoming programs including:Mega Mansions (July 8 at 6PM), offering tours of America’s most beautiful estates; Xtreme Waterparks (July 8 at 7PM), celebrating the world’s over-the-top water slides; Insane Coaster Wars (July 8 at 8PM), letting viewers vote on their favorite rollercoasters; RV Kings (July 8 at 9PM), following the transformation of one family’s RV into the perfect vehicle for their dream vacation; Suite Choice (July 12 at 9PM), giving travelers a chance to try out three of their ideal vacations in one day -- while staying on a budget; American Originals (July 24 at 7PM), in which Steve Watson crisscrosses the country playing with gadgets like the JetLev in Dania, Florida, where he’ll walk on water and fly through the air; and All You Can Meat (August 15 at 9PM), following radio personality and TV host Chuey Martinez (MTV3) as he travels the nation searching for the perfect cut of meat.

 

Outlaw Empires

Discovery Channel has ordered a new docu-series called Outlaw Empires, from the creator of FX’s Sons of Anarchy. The new series, set to debut on Monday, May 14, 9PM, will explore some of the most feared and iconic gang and mob families in history

 

Drop Dead Diva

Network: Lifetime

Date: June 3, 2012

Time: 8:00 PM CST

A fourth season of Drop Dead Diva premieres on Lifetime with 13 new episodes starting June 3 at 8p. The one-hour comedic drama's ensemble cast is headlined by Brooke Elliott and for the new season Kim Kardashian will begin her multi-episode run in the season opener playing relationship guru, Nikki LePree. The upcoming new season is currently in production in Atlanta and is produced by Sony Pictures Television.

 

Whale Wars

Network: Animal Planet

Date: June 1, 2012

The original Whale Wars series will open its fifth season on Animal Planet June 1 at 8p. Over eight new episodes and a one-hour recap special, the series will follow the Sea Shepherds' annual whale defense campaign in the Southern Ocean. In this upcoming new season, the Sea Shepherds will face tougher challenges as the Japanese whalers are more aggressive and the crew is taking on more inexperienced rookies. Call of the Wildman will be debuting on Animal Planet as well on June 3rd at 9p. The new season has 16 new half-hour episodes featuring Kentuckian "Turtleman" as he rids homes and businesses of a variety of critters including muskrats, river otters, beavers, squirrels and even wild coyotes.

 

The Glee Project

Network: Oxygen

Oxygen is bringing back a second season of The Glee Project from Ryan Murphy Television and Embassy Row premiering June 5 at 9p as well as The Next Big Thing: NY from BBC Worldwide Productions and Omelette Bar Productions premiering June 12 at 10p.

 

The Lying Game

Network: ABC Family

Date: Winter 2012

ABC Family has renewed its original series The Lying Game for a second season; the show will be back next winter. ABC Family's current run of teen drama Make It or Break It will be the program's final season. The series finale will air on May 14.

 

Major Crimes

Network: TNT

Date: August 13, 2012

Time: 9:00 PM CST

TNT has begun production on its new original drama Major Crimes, which is slated to premiere on Monday, August 13, 9PM, right after The Closer series finale. Major Crimes picks up where The Closer leaves off and features much of the same cast.

 

The Week the Women Went

Network: Lifetime

Date: June 6, 2012

Time: 9:00 PM CST

A new unscripted series on Lifetime will delve into modern gender roles and what happens when women leave town and the men have to run their own households, businesses and the community on their own. The Week the Women Went debuts June 6 with a 90-min episode starting at 9p. This limited series, set in Yemassee, South Carolina is based on a British social experiment and is produced by BBC Worldwide Productions. One-hour episodes will continue on June 13 and June 20 at 9p. The series ends on June 27 with a two-hour finale starting at 8p.

 

The Half Hour

Network: Comedy Central

Comedy Central’s new stand-up series The Half Hour will debut on Friday, May 11 with back-to-back episodes at 10 and 10:30PM.

 

Longmire

Network: A&E Network

Date: June 3, 2012

New original scripted drama series Longmire premieres on A&E Network starting June 3 at 10p directly following the third season debut of returning drama The Glades at 9p. Longmire is a crime thriller based on the Walt Longmire Mystery novels by Craig Johnson and Australian actor Robert Taylor stars as the charismatic and dedicated sheriff, Walt Longmire. The series also stars Katee Sackhoff, Lou Diamond Phillips, Bailey Chase, Cassidy Freeman and newcomer Adam Bartley. A&E’s new series Barter Kings will debut on Tuesday, June 12 9PM. The program features the thriving subculture of cashless trading, following Steve and Antonio, two of the best barterers in the business.

 

Are you Normal, America?

Network: OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network

A new game show hosted by Barry Poznick and comedienne/actress Kim Coles watches as two contestants compete to win more than $100,000 in their quest to learn if they're normal. Premieres June 4 at 8p with a sneak preview airing June 3 at 9p.

 

Lives on Fire

Network: OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network

This series follows four women who risk their lives every day as members of one of the nation's largest emergency response teams as they manage dangerous disasters in California. The series also delves into the women's personal lives. Premieres June 8 at 8p.

 

Million Dollar Neighborhood

The community of Aldergrove is working together on a million dollar challenge where they attempt to increase their net worth by a million dollars in three months. Series premieres June 9 at 8p.

 

Real Life: The Musical

New weekly reality series that helps tongue-tied people sing the words "I love you" or "marry me" and more as they work with a vocal coach and a choreographer to stage a live "flash musical" that surprises their loved one. Premieres June 9 at 9p.

 

Super Saver Showdown

Network: OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network

A new competition reality series that features two fanatic bargain hunters competing to see which one has the best coupon clipping, DIY skills. Series premieres in July.

 

Lovetown, USA

Network: OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network

Following a nationwide search, Oprah Winfrey dubbed Kingsland, GA as Lovetown, USA, a community that is participating in a social experiment led by relationship coaches Paul Carrick Brunson and Kailen Rosenberg. The coaches will attempt to transform the town of Kingsland in 30 days into a community that embraces all kinds of love, where broken relationships are mended and acts of love, kindness and forgiveness become the norm. Premieres this August.

 

Oprah's Next Chapter

Network: OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network

Date: Summer 2012

Oprah's Next Chapter returns with new episodes this summer airing on Sundays at 8p. The series follows Oprah as she conducts in-depth interviews with Neil Patrick Harris and then travels to Brazil to meet a man known as "John of God."

 

Our America

Network: OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network

Our America with Lisa Ling debuts a new season June 10 at 9p and joins Ling as she reveals an up-close look at the Native American culture, young girls entering convents, arranged marriages and the world of child pageants.

 

What Not to Wear

Network: TLC

Tuesday nights on TLC will include two fashion-themed shows beginning May 29. What Not to Wear returns with 13 all-new episodes airing at 8p while at 9p the network premieres Big Brooklyn Style, a new series executive produced by Stacy London that follows husband and wife entrepreneurs Lisa and Jim Dolan owners of a plus-sized clothing store. Competition series Tattoo School received a series order from TLC following the special that aired last summer. The series watches as students are put through a two-week crash course in tattoo artistry in Louisiana. Tattoo School debuts May 24 at 9p. Long Island Medium has been renewed by TLC for another season. The third season will consist of 16 more half-hour episodes, scheduled to premiere in September.

 

Gene Simmons Family Jewels

Season seven of Gene Simmons Family Jewels returns to A&E Network's schedule starting May 28 at 8p with a one-hour special episode. The series offers viewers up-close access to the rock star and his family.

 

Head Games

Network: Discovery Channel

Discovery Channel looks at what exactly it is that makes us human in the new three-part series Head Games, premiering Sunday, June 3, 9PM. Narrated by John Krasinski of The Office, the show delves into the inner workings of the deeply complex human brain.

 

How to Fall In Love

Network: Hallmark Channel

Brooke D'Orsay and Eric Mabius star in a love story about having someone to watch over you in How to Fall In Love, a Hallmark Channel original movie premiering, Saturday, July 14, 7PM.

 

Rehab with Dr. Drew

Network: VH1

Date: September 2012

Time: 9:00 PM CST

Rehab with Dr. Drew will return for a sixth season on VH1 in September. Later this month, a second season of romantic comedy series Single Ladies, from Queen Latifah's Flavor Unit Entertainment returns to VH1's schedule starting May 28 at 8p. Single Ladies is the network's first one-hour scripted series and it stars LisaRaye McCoy as Keisha and Charity Shea as April along with new addition to the series, Denise Vasi playing Raquel. Queen Latifah who serves as EP will also appear on the series.

 

Mountain Men

Network: History Channel

New wilderness series Mountain Men debuts May 31 at 9p on HISTORY. The eight-episode series follows Eustace Conway, who has lived more than 25 years off the land in North Carolina's Blue Ridge Mountains and other mountain men who have chosen to live off the grid and follow a wilderness lifestyle. Conway does his own lumbering, tanning and blacksmithing and lives primarily on what he can grow, fish or hunt. The series also profiles Tom Oar who lives on the Yaak River in Montana and Marty Meierotto who lives in the northern range of Alaska.

 

Political Animals

Network: USA

Date: July 15, 2012

USA’s much anticipated six-hour miniseries Political Animals now has a premiere date, Sunday, July 15, 9PM. The series, about a former first lady who becomes Secretary of State, stars Sigourney Weaver, Ellen Burstyn and an all-star cast.

The Real Housewives of New York City

Network: Bravo

Bravo returns to the Big Apple when a fifth season of The Real Housewives of New York City debuts June 4 at 8p with a 90-minute super-sized episode. Three new housewives, Aviva Drescher, Carole Radziwill and Heather Thomson join the cast for season five that will already include Countess LuAnn de Lesseps, Sonja Morgan and Ramona Singer.

 

Keeping Up with the Kardashians

Network: E!

Date: May 20, 2012

In the next new season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians on E!, the show is expanding into 18 one-hour episodes, slated to premiere May 20 at 8p. The next edition of the series will catch viewers up on what each Kardashian family member is doing, including the revelation that patriarch Bruce feels he is taken for granted. The series, which moves to the new timeslot of Sundays at 9p, is produced by Ryan Seacrest Productions and Bunim/Murray Productions. Also on May 20, E! debuts its newest series Mrs. Eastwood & Company at 9p.

 

VH1's Storytellers

VH1’s acclaimed series VH1 Storytellers, in which musicians and song writers explain their creative process, returns with four new specials this spring. On May 21, the show features Jill Scott. Multi-platinum selling musician Jason Mraz appears on June 1, Norah Jones guests on the show on June 8 and roots rockers Grace Potter and the Nocturals are features on June 15.

 

American Ninja Warrior

Network: G4

Date: May 20, 2012

The competition series American Ninja Warrior, dually airing on NBC and G4 kicks off next month. The two networks are teaming to search for the one athlete to be crowned the first American Ninja Warrior at the national finals in Las Vegas and also capturing the $500,000 cash prize. The series premieres on G4 with a two-hour episode May 20 at 8p and on NBC May 21 at 8p. Comedian Matt Iseman is back as host and he is joined this new season by Olympic gold medalist Jonny Moseley. Angela Sun is the show's sideline reporter. Following the premieres, new episodes will air on G4 Sundays at 8p

 

Adam Richman's Best Sandwich

Travel Channel personality Adam Richman stars in the 11-episode series Adam Richman's Best Sandwich in America when it bows June 6 at 8p. The weekly series with 10 half-hour episodes and a one-hour finale, journeys with Richman as he visits various locales in search of the most delicious sandwich ever using his own BITE SCALE (B=Bread, I=Interior, T=Taste, E=Eating Experience).

 

USA's Summer Original Series

USA Network announced summer premiere dates for 7 of their original series, beginning with Royal Pains and Necessary Roughness, June 6 at 9:00 and 9:00 pm. On Thursday June 14 Burn Notice and Suits return at 8:00 and 9:00, and new season of White Collar and Covert Affairs on Tuesday July 10 at 8:00 and 9:00. And Political Animals, starring Sigourney Weaver premieres in July.

 

Tia and Tamera

Network: Style Network

Style Network has announced that Tia and Tamera will be returning for a second season on June 11, 2012. Glam Fairy is also returning for another season.

 

Trip Flip

Network: Travel Channel

TRAVEL CHANNEL will air new show, TRIP FLIP, sometime in June. The 13 half-hour episodes follow Bert Kreischer as he surprises unsuspecting American vacationers by throwing away their guidebook and taking them off-the-beaten-path. It's the vacation they never saw coming. Then in July we see the return of BIZARRE FOODS AMERICA, which premieres Monday, July 9 at 9pm ET/PT. This season chef, writer, and culinary explorer Andrew Zimmern continues ditching his passport because he's discovered that some of the strangest foods and most colorful characters in the world are right here in the good old USA. As always, Andrew explores what the locals eat and this season he'll get a taste of the unique foods and local traditions that can be found in our own backyard. So whether it's pig uterus hot dish in the Twin Cities or muskrat pate in the Motor City, Andrew's advice remains the same; "If it looks good, eat it!"

 

Breaking Bad

The fifth and final season of the critically acclaimed original drama series "Breaking Bad" premieres this July on AMC. From acclaimed writer/producer/director Vince Gilligan, the series follows the story of a Walter White, a milquetoast high school chemistry teacher who lives in New Mexico with his wife and teenage son who has cerebral palsy. White is diagnosed with Stage III cancer and with a new sense of fearlessness based on his medical prognosis, and a desire to gain financial security for his family, chooses to enter a dangerous world of drugs and crime and ascends to power in this world. The series stars Bryan Cranston who won three consecutive Emmy(R) Awards for Outstanding Lead Actor for his portrayal of Walter White and Aaron Paul, who won the 2010 Emmy(R) winner for Outstanding Supporting Actor for his portrayal of Jesse Pinkman.

 

Bunheads

ABC Family has begun production on the new drama series, "Bunheads," filming in Los Angeles. Set to premiere on Monday, June 11th at 8:00pm CT, "Bunheads" is the tale of a Las Vegas showgirl who impulsively marries a man, moves to his sleepy coastal town, and takes an uneasy role at her new mother-in-law's dance school.

 

Hollywood Treasure

Network:  Syfy

Season two of Hollywood Treasure joins Syfy's schedule starting May 22 at 9p. The series delves into the world of show business and pop culture memorabilia featuring collectibles expert Joe Maddalena owner of Profiles in History. The first two episodes in season two will highlight a costume Whitney Houston wore in The Bodyguard film; items from the TV series Lost; the General Lee from Dukes of Hazzard and more.

 

T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle

Network: VH1

A second season of T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle was approved by VH1. The new season will premiere in fall 2012 and continues to follow Grammy Award-winning artist T.I. and his R&B wife Tiny as they support their children in their entertainment endeavors.

 

Men at Work

Thursdays this summer will be home to TBS' new original comedies starting with buddy comedy Men at Work premiering May 24 at 9p with back-to-back episodes. Men at Work stars Danny Masterson, Michael Cassidy, Adam Busch and James Lesure and was created by Breckin Meyer and produced by Sony Pictures Television and Fanfare.

 

Sullivan & Son

Network: TBS

Date: July 19, 2012

Beginning July 19, new workplace comedy Sullivan & Son will take over the time period. Sullivan & Son, set inside a popular bar in a working-class Pittsburgh neighborhood stars comedian Steve Byrne.

 

Barter Kings

Network: A&E

A&E has commenced production on the new original real life series "Barter Kings," featuring teams of entrepreneurs pursuing items they want by trading other items that they currently own. Cash is never exchanged and value is subjective, but these barterers know the current market well and they will trade multiple times over to get to the object of their desire. The network has ordered 13 half-hour episodes scheduled to premiere this summer on A&E.

 

For Better or Worse

Whitney Houston’s daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown, will have a recurring role on Tyler Perry’s TBS series For Better or Worse when it returns this summer. No word yet on the character she will play.

 

Craft Wars

Tori Spelling will host and executive produce TLC’s newest competition series Craft Wars, debuting on June 26. The ten-episode program puts a spotlight on the nearly $30 billion craft industry, celebrating a passion that is shared by more than half of all American households.

 

Hillbilly Handfishing

Animal Planet’s popular show Hillbilly Handfishing will return this summer with seven episodes.

 

Chicagolicious

Network: The Style Network

The Style Network explores the subculture of glam and beauty in Chicago in its upcoming Jerseylicious spin-off Chicagolicious, premiering on Sunday, June 3, 8PM. This 10-episode series takes viewers to the Windy City to follow AJ Johnson who owns AJ’s of Chicago, and whose clientele includes a who’s who of actors and models, including Jennifer Hudson, Angela Bassett and Iman.

 

Melissa & Joey

Network: ABC Family

ABC Family’s comedy series Melissa & Joey is back for a second season on Wednesday, May 30, 7PM with two back-to-back half-hour episodes.

 

Buying and Selling

Network: HGTV

A trio of new series are joining HGTV's lineup, per B&C. Buying and Selling (wt) is a spinoff of the network's Property Brothers series where Jonathan Scott prepares a family's home for sale while brother Drew finds their next property. The series debuts in September. Two other new HGTV series are spinoffs of the House Hunters franchise: House Hunters: Where Are They Now? debuts in October and looks in on memorable House Hunters families to see what happened after finding their new house. Living Abroad picks up where House Hunters International leaves off and looks at what it takes for Americans to adjust to a new country. The premiere date of Living Abroad has not been set yet.

 

ABC Family Shows

ABC Family will have three nights of original productions this summer. Starting June 1, Bunheads, about a Vegas showgirl who opens up a dance school in a small town, will air on Mondays at 8PM. Pretty Little Liars returns for a third season on Tuesday, June 5, 7PM, followed by a second season of Jane By Design at 8PM. Wednesday, May 30, 7PM, Melissa & Joey are back. Baby Daddy debuts on Tuesday, June 20 at 7:30PM. That show is about a young man whose girlfriend leaves their baby on his doorstep. Beverly Hills Nannies, a docuseries premieres on Wednesday, July 11, 8PM.

 

Anger Management

FX premieres four comedy series, two new series and a pair of returning series all airing back to back on June 28, 2012. The series debut of acquired comedy Anger Management starring Charlie Sheen opens with stacked episodes at 8:00p and 8:30p. Subsequent weeks will have original episodes air at 8:30p on Thursdays preceded by the previous week's episode repeated at 8:00p.
