MediaPost: Comcast--Local Ad Sales For TV, Digital Spikes

TV stations aren't the only ones seeing big rises in local advertising revenues. The fortunes of local cable, and the biggest cable system operator Comcast Corp., are climbing as well.
 

In the first quarter, the Comcast Spotlight division, it's local advertising sales group, watched a 23.5% climb in local revenues to $360 million versus $292 million in the first quarter 2009.
 

Comcast Spotlight, which is in 95 DMAs, representing over 30 million cable subscribers, grew its automotive business -- its biggest category -- by a big 58% versus a year ago.
